Facial Hair

I know men's beards grow at different rates, but when they get supplies dropped on the mountain, some of the men seem relatively clean shaven compared to some of the others who seem to have fairly thick beards.

Well, that's people for ya. Facial hair grows at different rates on different guys, though I do see what you mean.

Well, the way I get it, during WW2 facial hair was frowned upon especially for enlisted personel, BUT pretty much accepted when in the field in a combat operation where access to clean water might have been scarce and shaving just not a priority

Here is seems all soldiers are well shaved and hair is pretty much neat --- Hollywood presented the clean cut American Soldier

I can get a solid shadow that almost obscures the skin on my cheeks, jaw, neck, and upper lip in less than a week. It takes my brother a month or more to get to the same beard density. Beard-wise, the movie is plausible.

If you watch lotr, all the hobbits couldn't grow proper beards when they began filming and coukd at the end. Flynn mentioned in the beginning that everyone was young, more lpso those under his command. Makes sense to some could not grow proper beards.

you have to factor in shaving frequency as well as growth rates , even in the middle of a special ops mission
