Did Citizen Kane kill anything in cinema?

Did Citizen Kane kill any cinematic genre, given its legendary status as a film that revolutionized the entire craft of moviemaking?

My own thought personally is that Citizen Kane didn't kill anything in terms of genre, no. To say that it revolutionized film-making is I think entirely correct, however.

It killed dry streets at night on film. After it, streets at night were always wet. :)

It's healthier to drive on wet streets.
