favorite bit

what is your favorite part of the movie?
mine is when all four of them are hiding in barrels at the beginning.

That's a difficult question to answer, but I have to mention the part where Zeppo is telling Mary that he'll never leave her, and then, spotting a crewman chasing after him, he immediately runs off down the deck.

Watch 'em Abe, I seen 'em do some things!

My favorite moment is when Helton introduces his daughter by saying, "And now I'd like to present the sweetest little thing in the whole wide world"--and then Harpo steps forward with a rose in his teeth.

I reckon the whole thing is a great laugh, but if I had to choose the bit that cracks me up the most, it would be the shipboard 'bodyguard' sequence, where Chico and Harpo are supposed to be 'sticking close' to the Boss.

Not only do they repeatedly become distracted, and end up following half a dozen different people in their turn, but Harpo is holding his pistol by the barrel, instead of the butt!

HA HA

The best!

my favourite bit is where they are all trying to get off the ship by pretending to be maurice chevalier.

I like it in the barn when Chico does a Groucho-style line: "It is better to have loft and lost than to never have loft at all."

Groucho responds by saying, "Nice one!"

That's the grouch complimenting his brother for doing his line, but also tweaking him a little too, as if to say "can't you come up with your own comedy?".

Of course he's also breaking the fourth wall by admitting that they're doing comedy lines.
