They are definitely positioning her to take over the Black Widow character and she seems very similar to SJ in that she can fill into the same type as her and tackle the same roles while also showing sex appeal.
Can definitely see it and she is a better actress too.
don't know, but she is probably a lot cheaper than Scarlett , and a bad replacement for Black Widow as you said she seems like a carbon copy and not a good way to keep things fresh

shareI actually think she has the potential to be a more central MCU character than Scarjo. Black Widow was always on the periphery like Hawkeye. The MCU stars have been RDJ and the 3 Chrises. Scarjos Black Widow was engaging primarily for her sexiness and mysteriousness. They took that away in her solo movie, and the result was that she just wasn't that engaging.
Even if she carries the same Moniker, Pugh's Black Widow will be a very different character. I think she manages to pull off being kind of a jerk and being likeable at the same time. Something which is almost impossible for most female actors. I think it was a really astute move by Marvel to cast her in a role of an underpowered female superhero. Overpowered characters like Captain Marvel are as boring as fuck anyway. It's always much more satisfying to see a hero overcome odds that are against them using their brains, courage and determination. Anyway, I'm interested to see how they work her into future projects.
