Describe Taylor Swift in One Word
Banal.
Which word would you use to describe her?
Inescapable.
Ubiquitous.
Over-promoted.
Honestly, I don't hate Taylor Swift, but I don't find her to be a particularly stellar talent. I think her music is fairly bland, and I just don't see the appeal, but my God, even if you try ignore any entertainment news or media coverage of celebrities, you can't go even a single day, unless you shut off your computer and smart phone, and probably your radio and TV as well, when some outlet or other is not bringing her up.
I remember a video, back in 2008, when Obama was running for president, and the media were promoting him so incessantly, one woman was driving home from the store or something with her four year-old daughter, and election coverage was on the radio again, the irritated little girl, actually in tears, whined "I'm tired of hearing about Bronco Bama and Mitt Romney!"
That's kind of how I feel about Taylor Swift these days.
