The only theory that makes sense is that her brother Burke killed her, through rough play or accident, and the parents panicked and tried to cover it up to spare him the guilt, or avoid him being taken away by CPS,

I think there are a lot of possibilities here. Obviously a lot of fingers have been pointed at Burke, but I'm not convinced he HAS to be the killer.

Interestingly enough, Burke actually sued CBS for defamation over this show.

He was young and may have suppressed that memory. But yes, it is just a theory but one that gives a plausible explanation for the Mom writing that ransom letter and the Dad hiding the body.

all they have to do is put the dna in ancestry.com and they will find him.

Watch the CBS investigative special on the case. The investigation was reexamined by a group of retired FBI agents. They all concluded that Burke was the killer. The evidence is overwhelming.
