Best movie about Jesus?

I'm a sucker for The Last Temptation of Christ. I'm not a christian, and I don't imagine it's a lot of christians' favorite, but I dig it.

Also, doesn't he factor into Ben-Hur a bit? That's a good one.

I've seen The Passion of the Christ a few times, and I thought it was pretty engaging, but also very gross. The amount of torture that they show is beyond any level I would find enjoyable. I suppose if you believe this really happened, and that Jesus was literally experiencing this pain for you and everyone else, I can see why that would be appealing.

I'm pretty big into Narnia, most specifically the books and the BBC series of films from 1988 to 1990, so if you count Aslan, I think these are probably my favorite Jesus movies. I don't like the Walden Media movies at all.

For true believers and from the films I have seen about Jesus ( which isn't many ) I would say ' Risen ' (2016).

For people more interested in the historical Jesus than the Biblical Jesus I would recommend this excellent PBS documentary ' From Jesus to Christ: The First Christians ' (1998)
