You for real? Casting is horrendous. Buster wasn't Egyptian.
shareRami Malek is American, he was born in LA.
And did you know that a lot of silent movie stars were European or Mexican, and left Hollywood when sound came in because they had thick foreign accents? True! Hollywood has been loaded with immigrants since the get-go.
The script will apparently be based on the new James Curtis biography which is a well-researched, non-salacious work of scholarship, so I have some hope that this won't be The Buster Keaton Story 2.0. Hoping, praying-- not going to hold my breath though.
