Report: Russia did not hack DNC, inside job; liberal's Trump-Putin conspiracy theory falls apart

From former NSA staff. The Nation must be some alt-right website I never heard of.
Assange, Putin and Trump were right. Russian sanctions were baseless.

A New Report Raises Big Questions About Last Year’s DNC Hack
Former NSA experts say it wasn’t a hack at all, but a leak—an inside job by someone with access to the DNC’s system.

We come now to a moment of great gravity.

There has been a long effort to counter the official narrative we now call “Russiagate.” This effort has so far focused on the key events noted above, leaving numerous others still to be addressed. Until recently, researchers undertaking this work faced critical shortcomings, and these are to be explained. But they have achieved significant new momentum in the past several weeks, and what they have done now yields very consequential fruit. Forensic investigators, intelligence analysts, system designers, program architects, and computer scientists of long experience and strongly credentialed are now producing evidence disproving the official version of key events last year. Their work is intricate and continues at a kinetic pace as we speak. But its certain results so far are two, simply stated, and freighted with implications:

There was no hack of the Democratic National Committee’s system on July 5 last year—not by the Russians, not by anyone else. Hard science now demonstrates it was a leak—a download executed locally with a memory key or a similarly portable data-storage device. In short, it was an inside job by someone with access to the DNC’s system. This casts serious doubt on the initial “hack,” as alleged, that led to the very consequential publication of a large store of documents on WikiLeaks last summer.

Forensic investigations of documents made public two weeks prior to the July 5 leak by the person or entity known as Guccifer 2.0 show that they were fraudulent: Before Guccifer posted them they were adulterated by cutting and pasting them into a blank template that had Russian as its default language. Guccifer took responsibility on June 15 for an intrusion the DNC reported on June 14 and professed to be a WikiLeaks source—claims essential to the official narrative implicating Russia in what was soon cast as an extensive hacking operation. To put the point simply, forensic science now devastates this narrative.

Well that statement just makes the story drip with believability...credibility...and does not stink of horseshit at all!

Trump-Putin's conspiracy theory will not fall apart until former NSA experts have their conclusions about DNC leaks published by mainstream media. And we already heard what CNN thinks about it - one of their journalists admitted that they personally don't believe in Russiagate, but their bosses force them to constantly and relentlessly push the story on viewers. Fox news published the story about leaks being an inside job just once and never again. Once apparently isn't enough to change audience perspective about this.

Similar thing happened with sarin attack in Syria. CW expert Theodor Postol from MIT researched the evidence and came to conclusion that it wasn't Assad's doing. Mainstream media totally ignored him, and the public still thinks that Assad did it because that's all they can hear on MSM.

You know what's really hilarious about this "msn" stuff? Both sides of the right and left think they are biased against them 😂

reply

That's true, and both sides are probably right. But that just means that MSM is taking sides, which is (or should be) a deadly sin in journalism. People watch news expecting facts, but instead they get journalists' personal opinions disguised as facts.

reply

I think it's about time that both sides came together to realise we are all getting played. We get fed nonsense that confirms our bias. Like this satan guy, posts nothing but utter dogshit. But he's not wrong when he points to dogshit coming from the other side of the centre.

We all have to stop jumping in to the bullshit. And we really need to stop taking the opposite side of something or someone we don't like. Not liking both sides is a valid option. I hate trump, but I also hated Hilary. I see people support trump because they hated her, just like people support her because they hate him. We all need to start saying "fuck the both you" lol.

I will check who's picked up the story. Mostly conservative.
The only MSM so far is this opinion piece: https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2017-08-10/why-some-u-s-ex-spies-don-t-buy-the-russia-story
It mentions three that originally reported it: The Nation, Consortium News, ZeroHedge

Your opinion piece is written by a Russian, Leonid Bershidsky. Not really an objective nor credible source.

Multiple governments acknowledged the Russian interference in American and European elections. BTW, America and European governments have interfered in foreign country elections, too. Unfortunately, that's what governments do.

Six years later and this POV still remains controversial. Why?

reply

Only for Republicans and Trumpites who have no critical thinking skills and avoid reality at all costs. Murdoch already stated that Trumpites didn't want reality-based information which caused him to encourage lying about the election results to keep viewers.
