The Neon and Topic Studios drama may be incredibly divided with general audiences. Still, there’s an appreciation and respect to what she brings to the role, and she may have reached her moment in the awards circle after being passed over for strong outings in films like “Clouds of Sils Maria.”
Her biggest competition seems to be Lady Gaga as the murderous Patrizia Reggiani in “House of Gucci” from Ridley Scott. However, she’s already picking up a very high-profile win from the New York Film Critics Circle; she’s working the circuit and seems prime for her second acting nomination.
Nice, good for her. The Nominations are not really a surprise given all the excellent reviews. I hope she at least gets an Oscar nom also.

Finally, from the WTF file, back on December 1st, I preordered the Blu-ray for Spencer from Amazon.
At the time I placed my order, the Blu-ray had a January 11th release date.
Yesterday I received updated shipping info which informed me that I could expect delivery on February 16th.
Oh well, I first thought, a five day delay is not so bad.
Then I quickly realized that it was a delay of five weeks, not five days.
This I found very annoying indeed.
I wonder what the hell is going on.
I cancelled my Amazon Prime membership years ago, Carved, as a form of boycotting them. So for disclaimer purposes, I may not be the best one to explain what is going on with your order.
Regarding the Spencer Blu-ray you ordered, the Amazon product page still mentions:

Regarding this delay, right now my plan is as follows ...
1) On January 11th, I shall go to either Best Buy, Target and/or Walmart to see if the Spencer Blu-ray is available. All three stores are within a few miles from where I live, so this will be no problem whatsoever.
2) If it is available, I shall purchase it and cancel my order from Amazon.
3) Sometime in the future, whenever it gets released, I shall purchase the Criterion Collection of Spencer, this assuming that Criterion will eventually add Spencer to their collection of films, something that I fully expect will happen.

I checked Walmart's online site, Carved, and they are also taking pre-orders and selling it at the same price as Amazon. What I found interesting is if you order now, they claim it will arrive by January 19th. So if this is correct, there doesn't appear to be a supply chain issue at all. But I highly doubt Walmart will guarantee a January 19th delivery date when Amazon cannot even come close to meeting that date--so maybe there still isn't enough supply to meet short-term demand. So I sure hope you are able to get a copy at one of the retailers you mentioned on January 11th.

Regarding my preorder for the Spencer Blu-ray, I had decided to wait until today (January 12th) to go to one of the retailers I mentioned since I have the day off from work.
However, last night I received an e-mail from Amazon stating that my order had been shipped via USPS from Dallas, Tx. and was scheduled to arrive Thursday, January 13th.
I still have no idea why they had previously said that the scheduled arrival date had been delayed until February 16th, but obviously, such was not the case.
So now I am content to wait a few more days to receive said Blu-ray.
And speaking of waiting, the Screen Actors Guild nominations will be announced next week, so it'll be interesting to see what happens there. Let us not forget that Kristen has already received one SAG nomination in her career, this in the Cast Award category for Into the Wild (2007).

That is very surprising and extremely unwelcome news indeed.
Of course winning an Academy Award is worth all the marbles, so I sure hope she at least gets nominated. As far as winning the golden statuette, no one has ever won the Best Actress Oscar without at least receiving a nom from the SAG. So this SAG snub really puts a damper on her prospects of winning, at least from a historical perspective. But then again, for a contender this highly regarded by the top awards experts to get snubbed, as many of them predicted her to win the SAG award, this too may likewise be unprecedented. So we'll just have to wait and see.

Ck, I read the rest of the article and the writer goes into other aspects of how strong the performance was and why a nomination was deserved. Very well said by the writer. Kristen has been snubbed before and some of those times other performances may have been strong enough to give some reason, but this time seems too much.
shareIf there's any consolation, Carved, at least it's good to know that the feelings we're experiencing pertaining to Kristen's snub isn't simply the feelings exclusive to a fan of hers. Many awards experts and film critics are stunned as well. Yeah, I understand that judging acting talent can be highly subjective, but even when one looks at the objective data, it still doesn't make any sense whatsoever that Kristen wasn't included among the five SAG nominees.
I would understand the snub if it had to do with the five films of the actresses who were nominated were all critically acclaimed or commercially successful. But from these five films, only House of Gucci can be considered a box office success, while only The Eyes of Tammy Faye can be considered a critical darling as this was the only film that had a Rotten Tomatoes rating over the 60 percentile. So Spencer would have been a much better fit as it has a Certified Fresh RT score of 83%.
And Kristen portrayed the most famous woman of our time and absolutely nailed the part according to the vast majority of film experts, for goodness sake!
Just got back from work and was most happy to find the Spencer Blu-ray waiting in my mailbox.
And speaking of Rotten Tomatoes, I had to laugh when I saw the "Certified Fresh" insignia from Rotten Tomatoes printed on the bottom of the front cover of the Blu-ray package.
Also printed on the front is, "Stewart's Princess Diana Is One For The Ages." - Awards Daily
and on the back you will find, "Spectacular ... Practically As Close To Perfection As Possible." from Discussing Film
Oh yeah, one thing that I'm somewhat surprised about is that the Aspect Ratio is only listed as 1.66:1. Man, that's barely widescreen.
Finally, in other exciting news (he says sarcastically), waiting in my computer mailbox was an e-mail from Amazon informing me that due to a price drop, I have received a three cent refund on my purchase. Yup, that's 3/100 of a dollar. Will wonders never cease?

Of the films you listed in your final paragraph, the only one I currently own is Rear Window on DVD, and the back of the case does indeed state that the Aspect Ratio is "Anamorphic Widescreen 1.66:1."

Indeed. This isn't the first time with one of her roles not getting a nom and those in the industry could call it a snub, but this time is probably the most egregious.
I don't think this film will qualify for the oscars as too many white people are in it. Needed to tick more boxes.
