Oh man, that is so great! Patrick Stewart is such a great actor, great screen presence. He'll make a great Bosley. :)

Who better to play Bosley than Patrick Stewart, the man known for his authoritative voice, who is equally adept in voice, stage and screen acting--for what would the Star Trek and X-Men film franchises be without Patrick Stewart? Wow, this cast is really coming together to form quite a formidable unit, Ron.

The first thing that came to mind was: Isn't Elizabeth Banks already slated to play Bosley according to IMDb? Then you mentioned the above in your post and I'm now thinking: How very interesting. Could this imply that Banks will be a Bosley imposter in the film? A fallen angel similar to Demi Moore's character in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, where she becomes the main antagonist? Hmmm. Epic may surely be the word to describe its plot and potential twists, Mody!

I see that it's time for ... The Speculation Game!

OK, so when I read yesterday that there would be multiple Bosleys, my first thought was that Elizabeth Banks was Bosley and Patrick Stewart was, in reality, Charlie, but had taken on the disguise of one of the multitude of Bosleys in order to hide the fact that he, Patrick Stewart, was actually Kristen Stewart's dad.

If y'all are thoroughly confused by the above sentence, excellent! I have accomplished my goal.

And here's something else to ponder ... it is also possible that Patrick is not Kristen's dad, but is in fact her great, great, great, great grandson who had traveled back in time aboard the USS Enterprise because he wanted to get a chili-dog at Nathan's Famous.

This could be interesting. And my take on the article is that there will be multiple Bosleys, like you say, as the agency has expanded to worldwide. That would seem to open more venues for any sequels using the same actresses or different ones for different regions. Could be an interesting theme, just speculating here. Of course it all depends on the movie doing well, which it should if the story and writing do justice to the very good cast they have lined up.

Even though Kristen and Patrick look nothing alike, at least they share the same last name--so picturing him as her onscreen father is not as much of a stretch. But then again, Kristen's real life biological dad looks nothing like her either.

As far as my speculative guess concerning the multiple Bosley characters, Carved, I'll still stick with my gut and say one of them will turn out to be the primary antagonist. I say this for two reasons: One, both Patrick Stewart and Elizabeth Banks would make a good villains as they've both done in previous films--and Kristen could do likewise if given the chance. Two, no one else has been cast so far that would make a legit villain other than the aforementioned three. So in a wicked twist, one of these could likely turn out to be the main bad guy.

Speaking of Patrick Stewart's character Captain Picard aboard the U.S.S. enterprise, I thought to myself, why not include a brief clip of him speaking in his authoritative voice, mentioning the word "angel" at the end of my recent video edit, which features clips of Kristen, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska to the beat of Ellie Goulding's hit single "Lights" remixed by Bassnectar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wp03-pdygQM&t=13s

Yeah, I'll readily admit that this clip is way out of context, but I tried my best to make it seem as if he was talking about Charlie's Angels.

Interesting take on one of them being the antagonist. I hadn't thought of that possibility, thinking more like multiple Bosley type characters for different parts of the world as the agency goes international. It may make more sense for one of them to be on the "other side" of the Angels. :)

Great video. Is Kristen's part from a movie that I somehow missed recently, or is it a short video she did? She looks great in it. Good to see the other two main actresses in the video with parts of their movies, Naomi Scott in The 33 - a good movie.

Nice tie in to Patrick Stewart and Star Trek, one of my oldie favorite shows. I read that he's in a new Start Trek TV show. Link here:

Those were clips of Kristen from the Interpol music video which she starred in entitled "If You Really Love Nothing": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLk8i2zw2jU

Originally I planned on using mostly clips from her various feature films as I usually do, Ron, yet in this case I decided on going with clips from either a music video or clips from her Chanel ads which were accompanied by music, as these clips lend themselves nicely to other types of background music.

As far as using film clips from performances by the other two leads, I was compelled to do so as one of the most frequently asked questions with regard to the cast is: Who is Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska? I'm pretty sure after this film has its theatrical release, most mainstream moviegoers will no longer raise this question as Naomi and Ella will probably be household names by then, just as Kristen was after she starred in The Twilight Saga.

In addition to starring in the Star Trek TV series that you spoke of, Patrick Stewart is in 3 or 4 feature films which are projected to be released in 2019, including Charlie's Angels. Just goes to show that the accomplished 78-year-old actor is keeping himself quite busy nowadays despite his age, which is another thing I admire about him.

I guess since there will be multiple angels all over the world there will be multiple Bosley's so as i guess Bosley is just a cover name used by the character when the character is around the angles.

Yep, according to the article, the Agency has become international with more people playing as Bosley. I wonder if "Bosley" is more like the generic name being used for all of them.

Agreed, as I say in another post, if the writing and story are up to par with this strong cast then the movie has good chances of doing well.

I've always like Patrick Stewart in his roles. He is/was also a Shakespearean actor and I can see him in some of those roles with that powerful voice and stage presence. I probably first knew of him in his Captain Picard role on Star Trek but have seen him in many other roles since.

Have you ever watched Patrick Stewart in Richard Donner's thriller Conspiracy Theory? I was impressed by Patrick Stewart's performance in this film as he had the ability to make me put my complete trust in him in a vicarious sense at certain points in the story, while in stark contrast made me completely repulsed when it was revealed that he was a very evil man, a psychopath in the truest sense of the word, sending a chill down my spine. I put together an edit which showcased my favorite clips of Julia Roberts' performance in this movie and included some clips that illustrate what I mentioned about Patrick Stewart's ability to both make you want to confide in him while simultaneously making you sick to your stomach: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0g86KE3_Kl8
Thus you can probably understand why I'd love to see him play the role of a protagonist turned antagonist.

I'm sure I've seen Conspiracy Theory but don't really remember much of it. I do like the cast - Gibson, Roberts, Stewart.

Safe House is another of Patrick Stewart's films, a suspense story with Stewart playing an older retired, somewhat mentally impaired at times, Intel officer being pursued in his home. Good movie, but then he has so many of them!

This is the first time I'm reading about a new Charlie's Angels (4th reboot?). How did I miss that?

reply

This will be the 2nd theatrical reboot. There was a failed TV reboot.

This has been in the news a bit for a while, and some of the wait has been to find out who the cast would be. Sounds like they're really expanding the story line. I liked the TV show and the movies also. I remember the original TV show, but forget about or wasn't aware of the TV show reboot that Mody mentions.

reply

Yeah same Ron loved the old movies and show. There was a short lived 2011 TV reboot it didn't last more than 1 seasons.

reply

It didn't even make a season.

reply

"It didn't even make a season."

Yeah, and that's surprising to me. I would have thought that a show like that would have done well. It's different, with female agents, and its predecessor the first Charlie's Angels TV show did very well.

Just another example of how prominent nepotism is in Hollywood!

reply

Nepotism? First Patrick Stewart is a respectful actor he don't need any nepotism to hire him

Also they are not related..... They just have the same last name but not related at all

reply

Are you sure? They look practically identical.
