It was wonderful to see Elliot Page publicly support Smollett after he was assaulted.

Self-mutilating, gender-bending freaks rallying support for race-baiting, criminal grifter POCs. A microcosm of the liberal utopia that the left keeps pushing for.

Yeah, Page really beclowned herself after she not only uncritically accepted what was obviously a highly dubious story, but also stepped up on national television to rant very stridently how unacceptable the pretty clearly fabricated incident was. It just goes to show how cult-like the left is.

Modern "progressive" leftism is a cult. It has all the hallmarks of a cult. It is self-righteous, it is anti-reason; it stifles debate and difference of opinion; it marginalizes and even dehumanizes dissenters; it is manipulative and authoritarian; it is elitist (making adherents feel as though they are part of a special, enlightened, morally superior group); it has a polarized us- versus-them mentality; its members' subservience to the group encourages them to cut ties with family and friends.

Smollett's story was such that I smelled bullshit at first awareness of it. Ellen Page, as I said, not only bought it lock, stock, and barrel, but started stridently beating the drum for aggressive action to combat this complete fiction. And Smollett's story was stupid. Far right zealots just hanging out at 2 o'clock in the morning, in sub-zero weather, in deep, deep, blue Chicago, with their hate-crime kit primed and ready, to assault a random stranger whose political leanings they don't know, and declare "this is MAGA country!" Yeah. Right.

A child of four could have seen through this bullshit. But that's what ideology does: it makes otherwise intelligent people stupid.
