a tough sob

he could handle himself and he could give and take a punch. he had a number of concussions throughout his life. the defense in his trial is trying to use it to prove he had brain damage.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the book. Interesting info on his violent past. Author's have to walk a fine line, as conspiracy fanatics are a portion of the people who purchase them.

The defense might have something, but not much science behind it in the early 1960's.

I've read from numerous sources that concussions can effect the prefrontal lobe, the area that controls impulsive behavior. That could explain Ruby's behavior after hearing Oswalds impending transfer on the radio, marching down to the station with a gun.

I don't think Ruby killed Oswald out of impulse. My theory is he got a call from some guy with an Italian name who told him it was time to pay off some big debts, and he'd better do something to keep Oswald quiet or he'd have a "terrible accident" that would probably take several days to kill him.

The timeline that I'm aware of is that Ruby, by chance, heard the impending transfer on the radio..(Back in a time when the authorities would actually release this type of info to the press) He walked down to the station, where also by chance, the transfer was being delayed because the armored truck couldn't fit into the garage. If the departure happened on time, Ruby would have missed it. But he didn't, and Ruby was friendly with the cops and was invited to witness the transfer.

Maybe Hownos could verify that (if he's reached that far in the book)

He got into fights over people addressing him by his nickname of 'Sparky', which he hated.

reply
