Anyone planning on going to his coronation?

I'm from the U.S. and I realize that a trip to the U.K. is expensive, but I kinda wanna see the festivities going on for Charles' coronation. I know I probably can't get in the church where the actual coronation takes place, but maybe in the surrounding areas there will be parties or something like that?

I know I have a few months to think about it and plan if I'm going...most likely I won't because again, money is an issue.

Probably can’t is the biggest understatement regarding getting into Westminster Abbey during the coronation.

There will be a procession though London though that you could watch, and the royal parks will no doubt have the big screens set up.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm aiming for!

Sounds good then.

I honestly think it'd be more fun to watch the coronation live on TV, than to go to London and pay a fortune for a hotel and fight crowds for tiny glimpses of the happenings. But that's me, some people like being part of crowds, and I hate crowds.

I definitely want to see the business on TV, particularly where the new sovereign strips down to simple white before having the crown placed on their head. What a weird and archaic bit of ceremony! I mean there may well be another coronation in my lifetime, but it's not like I've got a lot of decades left.
