I've seen him in fruitvale station and creed and I don't get the hype. He's not horrible by any means, just an average actor and he has almost no charisma. His lack of presence was especially apparent in creed where I couldn't help but compare him to Carl Weathers- a man who has genuine movie star charisma.

I liked him in Chronicle. Plenty of charisma there. But every other film, I found him just okay. So I can't really answer that question.
shareI liked him in Chronicle but found him horribly bland in Fant4stic and Creed. It's hard to tell whether it was the actor's fault or the writer and director's fault but either way, he's probably not the most charismatic lead.
A true movie star can imbue charm and charisma in everything they do. A good example of this would be good ol' Jimmy Stewart. Jordan may not be a bad actor, but he's certainly not a movie star.
