Reggie Jackson or Dave Winfield?

Which former Yankees right fielder do you like better?

Reggie is a national treasure and a legend.
Dave was a home town hero. I grew up in the 80's watching him play.
I remember once the Yankees were losing so badly that the manager put him in to pitch the rest of the game. Dave had been a pitcher in his youth. Big Dave always seemed like a super nice guy.

reggie because of his filmography

In the 70's Reggie always beat my Royals. He won championships, almost every single year. As much as I hated him winning, he's a baseball legend.

Royals fan, eh?

George Brett losing his shyt during the Pine Tar game is a classic meltdown, ha…against the Yankees too…

KC had some nice players for its 80s run: Hal McRae, Frank White, Willie Wilson , Steve Balboni hitting bombs, I forget the catcher’s name, some pitching like Saberhagen, Gubicza, Leibrandt, Quisenberry….I’m missing a bunch of dudes , but you know…..Dick Howser at the helm….good times…

Cheers…

Both are very good and deserving of HOF status…

I prefer Winfield. Drafted in three sports for three leagues (MLB, NBA, NFL). Great athlete and a cannon of an arm in RF. A more complete, well-rounded hitter too.

But Mr October deserves his props- especially when Old Man Steinbrenner derisively referred to Winfield as “Mr. May” due to his paltry playoff record while in pinstripes….Winfield didn’t become a more consistent playoff performer until later in his career…
