What was her appeal?


If any? I remember watching Maude and she was alright, but as time has gone on, with that large frame and ill-humor, that deep, authoritarian voice, I'm not sure why people liked her.

As Maude, I thought she was funny as heck! Her comedy timing was superb.

I agree that she was hardly tiny and petite. She was more of what you'd call "a handsome woman." Actually I thought she looked prettier as Dorothy when she allowed her hair to go gray. Maude's salt and pepper hair color was rather harsh.

As Dorothy, her comedic wisecracks were hilarious.
