Looking for a TV movie Strauss did

I looked up everywhere from IMDB to Wikipedia and can't find this movie that aired on CBS sometime in the 80s or perhaps early 90s.

Peter played a man who came from the present and went back in time to what I believe was Nazi-occupied Eastern Europe. My memory of the story is very vague but he had something to do with collaborating with partisans fighting the Nazis but it could also be Soviet occupation and the partisans were trying to prevent the Soviet Bloc from taking over their homeland. I want to think this is set in either Hungary or the Czech/Slovak Republics, maybe even Poland.

This one is going to be very hard to figure out, are you sure Peter Strauss is in this?

Well, if it wasn't then it has to be an actor around his age who looks a lot like him. I have brought this subject up in "I Need to Know" section, and I have talked to several people who also remember this TV movie and it starring Peter Strauss.

Perhaps you're correct, and it could be another actor.

Nope. I've seen that one and it's a straightforward resistance movie. The one I'm searching for involves an American transported back in time from the present (80s/90s) so a lot of the story involves the main character shrouding his origins and trying to adapt to the local time and culture.

This is certainly a tough one, a time travel movie featuring an American going back to either the Nazi's or Eastern Europe? Maybe it wasn't a TV movie but an episode of Quantum Leap?

I tried Quantum Leap and thought that perhaps I mistook Strauss for Bacula but no dice.

I remember watching this with my Mom as a teenager when I got a nasty flu bug so I was home watching TV for several days. She also remembers this TV movie and confirms that she remembered Peter Strauss, along with other people I've corresponded with online.

I wish I could help more, maybe if you could think of another actor/actress in the movie. Strauss made a lot of movies, I'm pretty sure he's not in this one. There are lists of time travel movies I can't find anything like this movie. The Keep? Proteus? I can't find anything that fits your exact desription.
