I liked him as Thanos already. He might become one of finest villains ever put on screen. Like up there with Vader and The Joker.

shareComparing Brolin as Thanos to Ledger as Joker seems kind of ridiculous. Not taking any credit away from Josh, but he is mostly voice acting with a little bit of motion capture work. And from what I saw, it's nowhere near what Heath did with the Joker. It's like comparing apples and oranges.
Not only did Heath do a voice, he physically and mentally became this character. Can the same really be said about Brolin's portrayal of Thanos at this point? Plus, I like Thanos, but in comparison to the Joker (again, apples and oranges), he is a very one-dimensional character. Foreboding? Sure. Menacing? Yeah. But he doesn't pop like the Joker. At least not yet.

I completely agree. He is essentially voice acting. He doesn't even have to have to wink, CGI takes care of everything.

Even though I totally agree, this is not proper to Marvel's fans. Same can be said about Nolan's fans, or DiCaprio's fans. They are so annoying that it reaches the point that even though I love both Nolan and DiCaprio, I just feel despise for them because of the retarded fanboys.
Plus they made Thanos' face look a LOT like Josh which I find interesting
shareConsidering Heath Ledger literally drove himself crazy for that role which ultimately lead to his death, I wouldn't say this was the best example either.
shareThey usually make the character appear more like the person who is performing the performance capture. Because it makes the whole process of capturing the little nuances in the face work better, at least that's what James Cameron said is the reason behind it.
