As a Roger Moore fan what are your most "disliked" Bond films?

I've put disliked in quotes as some of mine aren't really disliked as such - I'd maybe still watch some of them. But they are definitely my least favourites.

Anyway, I find it interesting because these films are the one's that Daniel Craig "Bond" fans seem to claim as the ones they like most. They are:-

* From Russia With Love (most boring of the Connery films, dry even after Dr No)

* For Your Eyes Only (seen as a bit of a Turkey at the time but retrospectively given pass marks by the Craig crows)

* Licence To Kill (after the admittedly quality opening scene, descends into a low budget episode of Miami Vice)

* The World Is Not Enough (utter crap Dame Judi Dench vehicle, featuring the character of James Bond in a supporting role. The prototype of the later "team" "Bond" films, rather than Bond going off on a mission garbage which would cement Daniel Craig's tenure)

For those of you who are fans of the Moore films, which would you consider to be at the bottom of the pre-Craig barrel?

Die Another Day (lost the plot)

Live and Let Die (worst of Moore's tenure)

License to Kill (just felt off)

Diamonds are Forever (Crap)

(haven't watched a Bond movie in ages though)

Good call on Diamonds Are Forever. I'll still watch it - mostly for Mr Kidd and Mr Wint but it's a bit outlandish even for a Moore fan!

Not Moore's best but I do like Live and Let Die though...

reply

Difficult. The Craig movies are so awful, every Bond movie before looks like a masterpiece.

reply

True. But in a way I'm thankful for the Craig films - They're so bad that I've come to have an elevated appreciation of some of the classic Bond films I was never really much of fan of.

e.g. The Living Daylights. Was never the best but unmistakably a proper, following the formula, Bond film.

reply

I agree.
