Yep, SoS.

She is so gorgeous in that film that it hurts the heart to behold. In that red dress-in the club-for him-not for us-for him ONLY. I God's. He has it all, cannot sustain it & it gets away from him. The moment it does he is uncomprehending that it is over. Not over. It's over-over. Like most women, they'll take a shitload and one can get back & drop anchor successfully. And bless her heart, she does take a veritable shitload of abuse. Even after he returns from driving her cousin home "Dionna" can smell her on him. Little does she realize that it's her cousin's ass she smells. The look on her face is alarm. She knows. Her heart is in the process of breaking. But, she goes on. Why? She loves "Vinny" and she's a good girl, who works in her father's restaurant and times are rough there. "Vinny" comes there and in a fit of self loathing drops to his knees to her and promises her he'll reform himself, from sins he'll confess only to himself. So she goes on. He's struggling with homosexual feelings in & out of the bedroom, but, she is too young & new to realize it. Him too. They experience group sex in the city and it is here that she erupts, in a cemetery no less on the drive home. The marriage has died.

He sees now, but, there is no path back. His friends are not. They come to his & her's home and steal from him in plain sight of him after she has left the place to return to her father's home.

In an adorable scene "Vinny" goes there, the old man answers the door and counsels the boy that tomorrow is another day and to come back then. The girl hasn't told her father the facts of the crisis. She's too humiliated and he wouldn't be capable of comprehending such behavior.

There is no tomorrow for these 2 kids.

It's get better than this in film, but, I'll be damned if I can cite it.

This portion of SoS is a Spike Lee direct hit.

Film. American film.

Not a movie, but if you haven't seen When They See Us yet, he gives an amazing performance as Raymond Santana Sr.
