What the Hell Happened to Uma Thurman?

Uma Thurman has been a Batman villain, Robin Hood’s girlfriend, an Avenger (the English kind) and Quentin Tarantino’s muse. She’s worked with Robert DeNiro, Bill Murray, John Travolta and George Clooney. But these days, she’s shifted gears into supporting roles. What the hell happened?

Look like she's still working. Movies and Smash. I'm here cause I just bought Pulp Fiction on Blu, your welcome Uma! (Like she gives a *beep* lol

Thurman was NOT nominated for an Oscar for Kill Bill. Just wanted to point it out since the article got it wrong.

That said, she just recently had a baby, and she's probably not worried about working that much. She's successful and set for life and sometimes that's enough.
Who knows, maybe she'll get a juicy supporting role and finally nab an Oscar.

There is nothing wrong with supporting roles. She's been in supporting roles her whole career. The problem is that she unfortunately doesn't seem to get offered great work any more. She has starred in damn good films in her career.

Dangerous Liaisons
Pulp Fiction
Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2
Tape
Gattaca
Les Miserables
Sweet and Lowdown
Henry & June
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

It's an ordinary high school day. Except that it's not.

Actually she has been the lead in most of her good films.

A bit like Christoph Waltz, Quentin Tarantino just seems to get the best out of them and they don't see to be as strong away from him. Name me a role from Waltz that rival's his two Oscar winning roles with Tarantino. You can't.

Her best films are Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill films.

But she has some gems in her C.V, Gattaca (1997), Beautiful Girls (1996), Dangerous Liaisons (1989), Henry and June (1990), Mad Dog and Glory (1993), Vatel (2000), Nymphomaniac (2013), Sweet and Lowdown (1999), Tape (2001).

She's been more miss then hit, and she can be truly awful if the director doesn't get her into gear. I think once the looks started to fade and that Tarantino cred didn't last long, I think she knew her leading days were gone.

Is she still alive?

In our latest WTF series, we take a look at some of our favorite stars and filmmakers who have seemingly disappeared or altered their careers over the years to the point that begs the question; WTF happened? Now, before you think we're just picking on celebrities or running some gossip rag stuff, think again! We take a fun (and sometimes funny), researched and fair approach, looking at all angles that led our subject to wherever they are now (which isn't necessarily a bad place at all). If anything, it answers the question of where these fine folks went, how they got there, and where you can find 'em now.

Uma Thurman is up there with the most iconic screen personalities of all time. When many movies of this era are dead and gone, KILL BILL VOLUME 1 & 2 will still be considered classics, and that's barely scratching the surface of this incredible performer's career. So join us as we take a look at the highs (PULP FICTION, KILL BILL, GATTACA) and lows (BATMAN & ROBIN, THE AVENGERS - no not that one) of Thurman's body of work and what lies ahead!
