I've finally discovered why they call it a "strap on".

Because when you read it backwards, it spells "no parts".

I got a great commercial jingle idea for them.

"Strap on! Strap off! The Strapper!"

I thought this came out in the 80s.

It did.

They were still making them and using that jingle up until just a few years ago and would run them on during Christmas season.
