Long lasting TV shows that also had long lasting spinoffs that you haven't seen an episode of.

Law & Order (Over 1300 episodes)
JAG/NCIS (Almost 1200 episodes)
Chicago Fire (Over 600 episodes)
CSI (Over 800 episodes)
Doctor Who (Over 1000 episodes)

reply

Chicago Fire
Doctor Who

reply

I can't believe how many "Chicago" shows there are. It's a damn universe.

reply

Four in total?

reply

I think so.

reply

I've only seen the first season of Doctor Who's spinoff, "Torchwood"

I've only seen one Law & Order show & it's the spinoff "Criminal Intent".

My list:

1. The Walking Dead
2. Sons of Anarchy
3. The Closer
4. Supernatural
5. Big Bang Theory

reply

The Closer had a spinoff?

reply

Yeah, it was called Major Crimes.

reply

Never heard of it.

reply

Really? I think it lasted for like 5 or 6 seasons.

It was about Mary McDonnell's internal affairs characters from the show, (sorry don't remember her name) taking over the squad.

Didn't care for it. It wasn't the same without Kyra Sedgwick's Brenda Leigh Johnson. She was fun as hell & one of the main reasons I got into the show.

reply

I never would have imagined a show like that would get a spinoff. Mary McDonnell is a good lead actress though.

reply

Mary McDonnell is a damn good actress. But what can I say, I'm a Brenda Leigh Johnson stan!

Also, Didn't watch that much cop shows in the 2010s. The Closer was one of the last ones that genuinely hooked me before I got burnt out on the genre as a whole.

reply

All these shows you have mentioned above.

reply

Watched Breaking Bad never bothered with Better Call Saul. Saul as a character never interested me.
Vampire Diaries/The Originals
Ally McBeal/Ally - never knew about the Ally series, always thought Boston Legal was a spin off. Or was that The Practice?

On a related note who knew Bewitched had a spin off series "Tabitha"!?

reply

I had no idea about Tabitha. Boston Legal was a spinoff of The Practice.

reply

Dallas/Knots Landing
Family Guy/Cleveland Show
Fresh Prince of Bel Air/In the House
Mary Tyler Moore/Rhoda/Phil Grant/Phyllis

reply

I've seen the odd Fresh Prince episode, but other than that, my list would be the same as yours.

reply

I was just a kid and even though I knew Dallas was a popular show it held no interest for me, it seemed like a lot of people talking all the time lol.

The Fresh Prince just seemed annoying going from the ads. Will Smith still bores me now.

reply

The main thing that turned me off from Fresh Prince was the house they lived in. It felt too much like a set to me and didn't make me feel like it was comfortable to live in. I preferred Family Matters.

reply

Family Matters wasn't bad, Urkel especially in later eps put me off he becomes a full blown cartoon character. I never watched it often though. The house in Fresh Prince looked familiar to me like it was from Benson or a something Mr Drummond from Diff'rent Strokes may have lived in. A product of the 80's.

reply

They absolutely ruined Urkel in the later seasons. They made him an asshole who treats two women bad.

reply

If I remember correctly though it is because whatshername was always shooting him down but liked it when he turned into asshole guy. You couldn't have that story line anymore. Too truthful!

I never understood why he kept chasing her.

reply

Her name was Laura. To make matters worse, in either the last or second last season, she actually falls in love with Urkel. She actually gets jealous that he has a girlfriend even though he's treating his girlfriend like crap. As bad as that is, the final season gets so bad that in the series finale, Urkel goes to space.

reply

lol that is hilarious. I would try and download some eps from the final season but I doubt I would be able to get through them. I recall eps where he had all sorts of crazy experiments but never saw the space ones.
