Name this movie about robbing a vase... please.

Okay, every few yrs, I give this a try. Last time, I gave this a try was when IMDB forum was still running. Here's the plot, I think....

I think the movie was made in the 2000's.

The protagonist's girlfriend or fiancée is sick I believe, and he needs money to help her. He's at some party, and some black dude, who knows about art points to a vase on a mantle at the party. He says it's worth $40k. Anyway, the Protagonist goes and steals the vase sometime after the party, perhaps a few days after. He takes it to the same black art dealer he met at the party, who has like a pawn shop or something. He was about to close up for the day because he's about to go on a vacation or something with his wife. But the protagonist gets him to talk for a few minutes. Shows him the vase, but the dealer now says it's worth $13k or something. The protagonist is pissed. Some struggle ensues and he accidentally kills the art dealer. Now he has to close up shop himself and hide the body. While he's doing this several characters come by... I remember a security guard wanted to check in. I also remember the art dealer's wife came in with her own key or something from the back, and started speaking out loud to her husband, not knowing he's dead. She's going to jump in the shower, and when she's done, she is ready to go on that vacation. I'm not sure about this, but I think I recall the protagonist also having multiple personalities as he's trying to clean up his mess. Maybe that's why he killed the dealer in the first place, perhaps his other self was telling him, "He's trying to rip you off." I'm just not certain though, my memory could be making all that up to fill the missing picture. LOL!

Anyway, that's all I got. I can't believe I don't remember any of the actor's faces. I can vaguely remember, but they must be false memories because each actor I think of, I would check the imdb movie list and I wouldn't be able to find any movies resembling my plot. The stars are recognizable, but not blockbuster type leads. I remember thinking, "Oh he got his own movie!" Because these were like supporting actors on bigger movies. The Suicide Kings cast has a list of good candidates, but I think I went through all the actors filmography of that cast, and got nothing. I can't believe I don't remember the black art dealer too... I suspected Forrest Whitaker, Delroy Lindo, Harold Perrineau, etc. I've checked so many black actors. Joshua Jackson, Paul Walker, whoever was kinda popular, but not a big star yet in the 2000's. I've checked so many. Anyway, hope this time, someone who saw this movie will randomly read this post. LOL! Thank you.

Why do you need to know the name of this movie? Plan to watch it again?

reply

Thanks for asking... Hmm, don't think I need to watch it again. It's just one of those things that bugs you. Kinda like a song at the tip of your tongue.

This sounds a little bit like The Anderson Tapes, with Sean Connery. A much older movie. Maybe that is a crazy thought. Let me know if that’s right.

why you come on here with these crazy thoughts interrupting this man talking to himself

reply

That's not it. I think this movie was made in the 2000's. There was nobody as big as Connery in this movie. Which is probably why I don't remember any faces. LOL!

Asian Babes Vol. VIII.

reply

Hmm, the vase in the movie I'm talking about was simply stolen and sold. There were no sex acts with the vase like there is in Asian Babes.
