During hockey season I listen to a bit of Toronto 590 The Fan and get a lot of Marek and Friedman.
While I imagine listening to some radio coming out of NY state or Carolina Hurricane country (random examples) might have the same effect of having a small connection to a different region, I am glad to hear a little Canada mentions and views.
(Without getting political, back when mentions of Covid were unavoidable, a couple sports guys named Smith and Jones on 590 spontaneously began criticizing how fractious life in the US had become and some of the positions people were taking were unbelievable for this day and age. I was impressed how straightforward they were, the no nonsense appraisal of how ridiculous things had become. Just a couple sports guys telling it like it is.)
Anyway, I like hearing some Canada-centric hockey reporting, place names and the like.
