Ever start a movie thinking you've seen it, but you haven't?

I was positive I'd seen Rings 2017, basically The Ring 3. I do not remember any of it so far. I can't imagine I missed this when it came out, since I watch most horror new releases.

Yes. Or more thinking that I remember it and then realize I didn't watch all of it the first time.

reply

I'm assuming from your username you like the X-Files:)

reply

I don't think so. I've only had it where I didn't think I've seen it and then realizing I have.

reply

That's usually my issue too.

I saw Ingmar Bergman's "From the Life of the Marionettes". When I finished watching it, I went to IMDb to give with a rating and noticed that I had already rated it. I didn't remember a single thing about the film. Kind of sad that my memory is that pathetic.

Some films just don't stick in the memory.

reply

I think it might be that this movie is so generic, and bland, that it just doesn't stay in your memory.

reply

I can't think of one off the bat, but I'm sure I have-- there have been times I go to rate something on IMDB only to see I gave it a rating years ago. Some movies are that plain forgettable.

reply

Yep. Between the trailers that show everything, message boards like these and youtube review channels. I often don't see a movie because I pretty much got the gist of it already. And then a few years goes by and I start thinking I did watch it. Till I finally see it on tv one day.
