I hate video games.

I haven't played a single video game since I was a kid. Not one. This includes games like Angry Birds or something else found on a phone. I've seen my nieces and nephews play as well as my friends and this new generation of gaming reminds me why I stopped playing.

The objective of most games is to kill. Whether it's firing gun, Mario jumping on someone's head, Pac-Man eating a ghost or conjuring up a spell, the killing gets repetitive. You're then pretty much limited to sports and puzzle games.

Then there are the annoying bugs found throughout a game. This includes invisible walls, bad collision detection and broken seams. I also hate how you have to rely on the response of the controller to succeed. How many times do you press the button, but your gun didn't shoot? Bugs shouldn't affect me passing a game.

Then there's the bad voice acting on all games. I can't think of a single performance that I would put close to someone in movies or TV. And they're all part of some convoluted story.

Then there's the fans. But I won't get too much into that because that's a whole other topic. I'll just say that I don't think video games players are athletes.

Finally, doctors say that video games are the worst form of media for your attention span. Kids can't just sit down, watch a movie and focus on a story anymore, they need to be doing something with their constantly and need something that they can control at their own pace.

I hate video games. I hate 'em, I hate 'em, I hate 'em.
