Healthy 26 y.o. Hospitalized with Coronavirus

Young people mistakenly believe they're immune or the symptoms are like a slight cold. That's not true. Not being able to breathe or too weak to stand are not minor symptoms. They're taking a gamble.

40% of persons hospitalized are between 20-54.

"That night I woke up in the middle of the night with chills, vomiting, and shortness of breath. By Monday, I could barely speak more than a few words without feeling like I was gasping for air. I couldn’t walk to the bathroom without panting as if I’d run a mile. On Monday evening, I tried to eat, but found I couldn’t get enough oxygen while doing so. Any task that was at all anxiety-producing — even resetting my MyChart password to communicate with my doctor — left me desperate for oxygen."

You know what, I think I agree with "atomic girl"
(the virus didn't emerge in December).

Last year, from Jan. to mid-May, I had those symptoms, minus the chills.
For at least 4 months, I had trouble breathing half the time during the day, and all the time at night.

Vomiting was not uncommon.

Nobody ever said the young were immune, just much less likely to get seriously ill.

Well, nobody with any knowledge of science, anyway.

This healthy 28 y.o. man has liver damage. He was hospitalized, was coughing up blood, couldn't breathe and couldn't move without severe pain. He said it was much worst than the flu which he had several times.

"... just much less likely to get seriously ill."

That may have been the situation in China, but Europe and the U.S. are seeing more young people with serious symptoms and hospitalizations. Why risk being the "exception"?
