Stonekeeper's Neverending Funtime Party Game: I Recommend THIS Mystery Movie #769 [On the Beach (1959) - lud wins]

I have a movie in mind and you have to guess which one it is. For each movie you guess, I will give a hint that CONNECTS your guess with the movie I have in mind.

Example of connections: Actor, length, genre, aspect ratio, language, country, year, director, writer in common, rating, number of votes, nominations. It can even be something like: both movies involve kittens.
Helpful search engine: https://www.imdb.com/search/title/

- The winner can either start a new game or say "pass". In case of a pass, the OP gets to start another one.
- After 12 hints, the point goes to the OP and he/she gets to start another one.
- Movie must have at least 3500 votes. Otherwise, add a bonus hint.

On the Beach 1959. Saw it when I was around 11 or 12, was a haunting movie for a youngster, don't know if it still holds up, but with Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, and Fred Astaire, probably a safe recommendation.

"On The Beach" is a fine movie.

Even 60 years ago, the message at the very end to the audience was "There's Still Time Brother" - but we did not heed.

reply

As a kid watching it I was haunted at the end by the wind blowing through deserted streets.
