I’ve never understood mass shootings
If you were pissed off at the world why would you kill random innocent people? Why not the pieces of shit who did you wrong? Makes no sense at all.
shareThe mass shootings are really rarely random. Look at your typical school shooting as an example. The shooter is often times a kid that was bullied or an outcast at the school he targets as a shooter. That isn't a random shooting it is one where he has pent up anger at that particular school and the students/teacher that go there. If it were a truly random shooting then that person wouldn't target the school he would simply walk out the door of his house and commence his shooting at the first large group of people he saw.
The term random shooting really only applies to the fact that the shooter only manages to shoot a limited number of people and that they were not often targeted specifically as if they were on a list of people he wanted to kill. If these shooters were never stopped by the police they might very well try to shoot everyone in the school that they could in which case it would clearly not be a random shooting, just a mass shooting.
It is only random that when they start shooting that it is pretty random who is in their targeting view when they start. Blame the media for portraying the school shooting and similar shooting as being random. In the end these aren't really random shooting they are specific shootings often based on a deep seeded anger at an experience the shooter had with the institution where they commence the shooting. But the media will not present the facts that way because doing so would imply that the institution was part of the problem... which is a shame because if we were honest and accepted the fact that the school environments are often the triggering mechanism that sets these shooters into motion we might actually be able to address the problems and end these shooting by the bullied and outcasts.
Back to your thought that they should only target the ones that did them wrong.. in their minds everyone that goes to that school and does nothing to stop the way they are treated is guilty. I think if you look at some of the cases of school shootings you will find that often the shooter will tell some people that they have a connection to that they should not go to school on a particular day when the shooting is going to happen. That is in a way the shooter trying to make sure that they people they believe to be innocent of doing anything against them aren't there. So in a sense they do have a list, only it includes pretty much everyone at the school.
