Long held suspicion just recently proven true

Found out today through random conversation that a woman I suspected of being pregnant while in college in fact was so. This happened a very long time ago and until recently I had not given any thought to the woman or what happened to her. Hopefully, mother and daughter are happy as well as healthy. Sounds like the father is out of the mother's and daughter's lives. Anyhow, I suspected this happened as events unfolded during what turned out to be the pregnancy. The father up and left college while the mother was a little pudgy just before her graduation. I'm guessing the daughter was born during late summer after graduation. Ever have a suspicion about something that was ultimately confirmed many years later?

I did not go out of my way to learn any information and would point out I wished both mother and daughter well. Further, that I knew this woman as she was in the same curriculum so I could feel empathy at the time. I'm not slut shaming at all. Just wondering if anybody wondered about something many years prior and then had their thoughts confirmed as fact. Honestly, I had not given the woman any prior thought dating back to college. I just noticed certain things at the time but sure as heck did not run through the buildings shouting that some woman was pregnant and was not married. Actually, I am relieved that the best possible outcome happened all things considered. What I knew of the mother having a daughter to build a family unit turned out to be a positive occurrence.
