Your happy place...

I went for a long hike today in Clarence Fahnstock State Park in the Hudson River Valley of New York

The hills were crowded with Mountain Laurel and mosses, great big Granite outcroppings were everywhere, I located lots of small ponds and big lakes to revisit this summer with some fishing gear and my kids
I even found an enormous Beaver Lodge...really cool to see that!

What places give you the most happiness MC'ers?

reply

we used to hang out here when we were kids

Port Fairy - a seaside town on the south coast of Victoria, Australia, about an hour and a half's drive from my home. It's a real nice place to relax.

reply

I had to look that up
I've got a fascination with Australia

somesunnyday mentioned The Great Ocean Road, have you been there?

reply

Port Fairy is along the Great Ocean Road. It's the road that leads along the South Coast.

The local gun range... Hmmmm bliss.... Zen is emptying a clip of 44 Special on a Desert Eagle.

Desert Eagle
Heavy duty machine you've got there!
Sounds fun

My local gun range only allows one shell in the weapon at a time...it's a real drag

It's a county park, they claim safety reasons
Trouble is it makes it impossible to practice follow up shots for hunters

You really feel like you've done something special if you can just get all the shots anywhere on paper... :D

Unlike my fancy expensive 9mm 1911, she shoots like a laser beam.

About two hours north of Toronto is the world's longest freshwater beach. Goes for about 9 miles.

In Canada, I honestly thought it would have been rockier, jagged cliffs included, much like the coast of New England, unless I am terribly mistaken; never been to that part of the world.

This is a beach on one of The Great Lakes - Lake Huron/Georgian Bay.

No, I didn't take anything
Those hills are an ient and beautiful, I wouldn't want to disturb them

We have lots of minerals here in the yard and the woods surrounding anyway

I did a garden path and outdoor fireplace of found rocks at my last house
I miss it
