Netflix vs Prime

If you had to choose one, which would it be?

Pros and cons.

Netflix:

Pro -- You can share your account with others, if you want to. Not that I ever have had the need, but I could should I ever have a situation where I wanted to.
Con -- I don't find much on there anymore that I'm interested in seeing. Too much serial killer, psycho, crime stuff for my taste.

Amazon:

Pro -- Better variety on all kinds of subjects.
Con -- If the app crashes (which it does reasonably often), it doesn't save to the "continue watching" list, so I have to run a search for whatever I was watching to find it again.

Netflix is the only streaming service I have right now. I tried Hulu, got the first month free, but canceled it in less than a week. Couldn't find much of anything I wanted to watch. To be honest, I have no interest in behemoth Amazon and its Prime.

I've had the occasional issue with Netflix. Every once in a while it won't load the episode I've chosen to watch. I can watch the one before or the one after, but some glitch won't allow me get the one I want. The other thing that bugs me is that it works differently depending on whether I'm watching via Roku or on my laptop. Maybe it's my Roku; I don't know, but I like it better on my laptop.

Oh, and Netflix's recommendations "because you watched" are a joke, as are the "popular on Netflix" and "trending now" lists. There's no way that I believe that some almost obscure movie or old series is trending. Some days I wonder if I've almost reached the end of the road with Netflix; I'm finding fewer and fewer things that I'm interested in watching. Or maybe I'm just feeling peevish. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How long ago did you try Hulu? I couldn't find anything I wanted to watch on it either, but admit it was several years ago when I did their trial subscription. It's probably improved since then, but I doubt it's enough that I'd want to bother with it.

Oh yes, I've had that same thing happen. Inexplicably, one episode won't play. This isn't too bad if it's a series with stand-alone episodes, but too often they're not, so you have no choice but to find something else to watch until the stubborn episode decides it wants to be seen. I don't have Roku, so can't comment on that.

Never could figure out the difference between their "popular" and "trending" lists. Another thing is when you run a search for something and Netflix doesn't have it (which is most of the time, in my case), the supposedly "related to" search returns that you get are ridiculous. The first 2 may be related, or somewhat so, but the rest it's like they've pull up any old random thing.
