Do You Ever Pause a Movie To Read The Screen?

To read something on the screen? I notice doing this especially in an older movie, where there is a newspaper large enough. I'll pause, and make out the headlines, etc... Sometimes I'll do the same if it's in a big city, 1950s, to read the movie title on the marquee, and just signs in general - wondering what they sold, if some companies are around today, etc..

I've done that so many times. Sometimes you have to especially if reading subtitles or something quick happens on the screen too fast for you mind to process what you saw. I also read anything within a video game or while watching a gamer gameplay walkthrough on YouTube.

So many of those Hollywood classics cut to closeups of pieces of paper with fancy text written on it and it's way too confusing to read. I've used it for stuff like that. Had they kept a normal font, I wouldn't be having this issue. There are times, however, where text in the beginning of a movie is on screen as they're giving you a prologue and it moves way too quick.

Are you writing about subtitles? I use them especially if it's a foreign film.

No, not subtitles... Things already embedded.
