Mine-

My favorite 2010 movies-

1. Shutter Island--10/10(Incredible film, Amazing Score, Haunting Ending)
2. Inception--10/10(All Timer)
3. The Expendables--9/10(One of My favorite action Movies ever)
4. The Town---9/10(All time Great Bank Robbery movie)
5. McGruber---10/10(IMO one of the greatest comedies ever made)
6. Iron Man 2--7.5/10(decent)
7. Smokin Aces II: Assassins Ball(straight to DVD)-8.5/10(absolutely Insane, damn good)
8. Undisputed III Redemption(straight to DVD)-9/10-(one of the best Martial arts movies ever)
9. RED(Malkovich is incredible in This role)
10. Legion/Kick-Ass(Tie, Kickass is the better movie but I enjoy Legion more)

IMO The Best Movies of 2010 -
1. The Social Network --9.5/10

2.Shutter Island --10/10
2. Inception--10/10

5. The Town --9/10

Honorable mention to
King's Speech A bit Oscar baity for my tastes a good film nonetheless.
The Town. My only issue a little derivative of Heat. Well made though I just prefer Heat.
Shutter Island. Enjoyable I just saw the twist coming. Although I have seen a lot of movies.

I saw The Town Before Seeing Heat....

In fact I Only watched Heat Because of The Town, I really loved The Town and remember after watching back in 2010 when it came out, I went to IMDB boards to discuss it and the board was full of people saying it was good but was a ripoff of Heat....

I then went to the Heat board and seen nothing but people calling it an all time Great Movie....

Of course I immediately went out and bought Heat.....

I was Blown away, IMO Its easily the best Bank robbery movie ever and one of my favorite movies of all time now....

But I must admit, I was complete astonished at how The Town basically really did completely Ripoff The entire movie....one could argue The Town is almost a remake of Heat(with a different ending)

I absolutely LOVE BOTH movies...But It truly is shocking how similar The Town is to Heat....

Heat--10/10

See I can see how someone who had not seen Heat be utterly shocked by it. I even noticed a lot of cues taken from it by the dark knight. Nolan himself even admitted that was a major inspiration and had influence on him making the dark knight.

Thing is why I give more credit to the dark knight is I felt it did more fresh new things. Yeah it took from Heat but I didn't look at it and go wow that's basically a remake. When I watched the Town in literally every scene i was like this is Heat. The ending is just different like you said. The town is well made though. It's well acted, well shot etc. I have to give the edge to Heat because it's more original.

It's weird a heist movie I felt was always underrated was Inside Man.

Boy thats a tough for me....

thats kinda like asking me to pick between Se7en and Silence Of The Lambs...I feel both are equally great and Tied for the best movie of its genre

Heat and The Dark Knight for me are 2 All timers...IMO Heat Is the best of Its genre and TDK is the best of its genre(or actually tied, for Me I have The Avengers, Logan and TDK as the 3 greatest CBM's ever)

I think for me they are both equally great in quality, I do watch TDK more....and Ledgers ALL TIME great performance is some thing that is clearly in TDK's favor(although I thought RD was incredible in Heat)

Literally just took about 3 mins to think and try to decide...My conclusion is, TDK and Heat are a complete Tie in Quality But I would rank TDK above Heat SOLELY because of Ledgers Performance....Heat Just doesnt have A Performance in that league, therefor I got to give the slightest of edges to TDK....

But it wouldnt surprise if my opinion doesnt change and constantly flip/flop

Oh see I was comparing the Town and The Dark Knight. Sorry if that was not clear. Oh yeah between Heat and The Dark Knight it really is a toss up. For me it probably goes to The Dark Knight. I admit I am a Batman fan at heart so that probably without a doubt plays into it. However if someone said Heat had the edge I could not say they were wrong. In terms of artistic value that is a tie. Both are terrific films. Deniro was outstanding in Heat! As was Heath Ledger in TDK. Thing is also both had terrific ensembles as well. The Town while very solid felt more derivative than Heat and The Dark Knight.

Wow that is a good parallel. Between Seven and Silence of the Lambs. Can I just say both and cheat lol?

I totally agree with your comparison of Heat and The Dark Knight though. Both are masterpieces.

dogtooth - one of my very favourite films.
uncle boonmee who can recall his past lives - truly odd but clearly heartfelt thai film. i think parts of it are a bit lost on me because i just don't have the cultural connection, but i love its weird, languid tone.
enter the void
guy and madeline on a park bench - not as polished as chazelle's later films, but it has tons of raw energy.

The only movie I can think of from 2010 is a "A Serbian Film" and it is far from my favourite.

My eight-year-old granddaughter would say How to Train Your Dragon. 😉 Honestly, I can't remember any from that year that I really liked, so I'd probably go with her pick. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
