Favorite Ray Harryhausen movie?
The master of stop motion creature effects. What's your favorite? Mine is definitely Jason and the Argonauts.
shareI'm biased in my answer of Earth vs. The Flying Saucers in that it is the only film I've seen of his in recent years. Funny, I just had a conversation the other day with one of our felow posters here about Harryhausen. I was surprised at how incredibly smart this movie is for 1956, the year of its release.
There's danger and suspense without any of the camp many films of science fiction fell into during its era.The Saucer scenes with the U.S. government buildings look really seamless and incurring explosions look realistic to a degree to feel emotions . I highly recommend for anyone who has not seen it, even if Harryhausen thought of the movie as the least favorite of his work.
