youtube is getting worthless for current events

Almost every time I go to youtube to look for videos of current events, I end up clicking on a "video" that is nothing more than a string of still pictures, usually accompanied by some crappy music or synthetic voice.

Reporting them does no good.

Since youtube won't let us flag these click bait sites with a click bait button, I wish youtube would provide an option to block all further returns from any and all sites we wish to eliminate from searches.

copyright issues I would imagine

Possibly, but then they shouldn't throw together these click bait "videos" if they don't have the rights. The other day I had to go through almost a dozen of these looking for an Olympic luge run from a girl from our state. Most were stills until I finally found a video.

What's worse is that the supposedly brilliant You-Tube AI bot that is supposed to figure out videos you might be interested in doesn't seem to get the idea that maybe for news people do not want 6 month, 1 year or older articles unless they are looking for them specifically.

Can't stand those "videos" with the synthesised voices, or the stills. Or worse, both.

There were events that happened here where I had to rely on older news from YouTube to get caught up on what had happened, so I'm well aware of what you're referring to.

The only solution I found was to stick to the channels of reliable news sources.
