To the real members here: be sure to click on the username of posters, where you can easily check to see if the person posting is the real person, or not. Easy peasy.

I tested this earlier with another member.
You can sign up with a members name from imdb but you can't edit their posts or get notifications from posts before you joined MovieChat.
Yes that makes sense, but today people were also signing up with names identical to moviechat accounts. Not cloning old imDB names, but cloning the new MC names. Different profile but same name. They could not edit the other person's posts but they were just trying to confuse people and make regulars look bad.

shareYea you could troll by taking the same username & confuse people especially if if a person is really familiar with the person or board they are trolling.
Not sure what the best way is to combat this but i do hope it will not become a problem.
Most of the clone name threads are gone now so I am assuming the names are banned too.
