When can we add avatars?

Yes We are in our infancy.

Woow..slow down there. We still need to get email notifications, before we get to the whole customize profile thing. It is definitely a good suggestion though. I am still wondering if they should include a post signature like on IMDb. Those things kind of were getting annoying, especially if you could not tell it from the post.

When we do eventually get avatars, I hope they are rather small boxes similar to IMDB. Just enough so I can identify certain posters, and visible enough for people to express themselves a bit.

But I don't want:

- large avatar boxes like those on IMDBv2 (too big and distracting!)

- no animated gifs. I mean, they sound cool at first, but become really tacky when everyone has these loud moving avatars, when it should be our posts taking center stage. Plus I think they could slow a website down.

- no circle avatars. Sorry to pick on TMDb, but those circle avatars (or "bubbles") look weird. Like it's competing for attention and just not melding well with everything else. I should be in a restful state reading posts, not a confused one.
