I don't want to provide traffic to IMDb, from now on I will use their sister site boxofficemojo and wikipedia.
I wonder if when you use the SEARCH feature on moviechat.org are you providing IMDb with traffic, I don't want to do that.

shareHm, that's a shame they think that way, but I can understand why. Personally, it doesn't bother me all that much, but...I can't fault anyone for it bugging them. I still think they could give it a chance, since it archived the stuff they contributed and loved and wish they had back, but like you said...to each their own.
I don't know if one site will prevail like some people have been saying. We may be looking at a select group for each site with some wanderers using each, kind of situation. I'm cool with that as long as there is activity. If I can have a community to discuss these things I'm good, and I hope others will be too!

sharePrecisely, 9! I, too, am using TMDB right now, but I have to say I am favoring this site. You said quality over quantity and while there may be a slight uptick in activity there, my experience has been most people sort of talking past one another instead of engaging in in depth discussion.
I may not have had as much back and forth on individuals boards in here, but when I do and on the Gen. boards the conversations have been much more of an actual dialogue. But we'll see, I'm happy with what I can get right now, so I only hope that grows!
