DC Park Police: tear gas was NOT used in clearing "protesters", and strong push was used because they were violent.

Turns out they didn't use tear gas, despite the hysterical crocodile tears flowing on CNN and this board from Democrats claiming otherwise. Nor did they clear them so Trump could visit the church, though I'd be fine with it if they had. Apparently the Attorney General visited earlier and a rioter threw a bottle at him, narrowly missing. The AG gave the order to push them back farther. It was also right before the 7 PM curfew leaders had vowed to enforce anyway. They gave warnings to back off through loudspeakers, which the mob ignored, and violently resisted when the cops tried to advance, so the police rightly escalated, though not with tear gas. This was after days of the DC rioters injuring numerous agents, assaulting Fox News reporters, defacing national monuments, and setting the historic church on fire.

"Park Police say they cleared White House protest after attack by activists

The US Park Police on Tuesday said they cleared protesters from in front of the White House on Monday because they were attacked while attempting to install a new fence, indirectly denying they did so because President Trump wanted to visit a fire-damaged historic church.

Park Police acting Chief Gregory Monahan pushed back on a prevailing narrative that authorities cleared way for Trump in an afternoon statement nearly 24 hours after the fracas aired live by TV crews, some of whom were struck by authorities.

Monahan specifically denied a widespread claim that Park Police or another agency, such as Secret Service or the National Guard, deployed tear gas against demonstrators protesting the killing of George Floyd by Minnesota police, as was widely reported and alleged, including by Trump’s presumed Democratic opponent Joe Biden.

Officers did however use smoke canisters and pepper balls, which induce a stinging effect similar to pepper spray, he said. Moments later on 16th St directly north of the White House, there were loud bangs that appeared to be from police flash-bang grenades, but Monahan’s statement did not address their use.

The Park Police chief, whose beleaguered force was pelted with bricks and water bottles throughout Saturday and Sunday night, said that on Monday, officers advanced around 6:33 pm and “violent protestors on H Street NW began throwing projectiles including bricks, frozen water bottles and caustic liquids.”

“The protestors also climbed onto a historic building at the north end of Lafayette Park that was destroyed by arson days prior,” Monahan said. “Intelligence had revealed calls for violence against the police, and officers found caches of glass bottles, baseball bats and metal poles hidden along the street. To curtail the violence that was underway, the USPP, following established policy, issued three warnings over a loudspeaker to alert demonstrators on H Street to evacuate the area. Horse mounted patrol, Civil Disturbance Units and additional personnel were used to clear the area.”

Monahan continued, “As many of the protestors became more combative, continued to throw projectiles, and attempted to grab officers’ weapons, officers then employed the use of smoke canisters and pepper balls. No tear gas was used by USPP officers or other assisting law enforcement partners to close the area at Lafayette Park. Subsequently, the fence was installed.”"

Too bad about your thread, "Trump teargas and the Bible". yatzo at his most eloquent. I almost even clicked on it. Tough break.

The whole incident was broadcast live on TV

Video and audio recordings matter nothing to T-rump and his minions. T-rump denies things he has said on camera, in a microphone - even on Twitter. His minions stand up for his denials, and move on to more lying. No difference in this case.

You realize it's the Park Police saying this, not Trump, don't you, and that you're the one ignoring evidence? More nonsense from doggiedaddy, the biggest liar on the board and one of the dumbest posters.

reply

You realize there's plenty of camera video showing just the opposite, don't you , and that you're once again ignoring evidence ?

More bullshit from krl, the biggest liar on the board and the dumbest poster.

reply

LOL! I watched those scumbags for many hours, you lying moron. Once you throw a rock into a cop's face you lose my sympathy. Even in the brief clips I've seen on some liberal outlets you can see them trying to resist the police. The DC protesters have been some of the worst in the country. I'm not surprised a scumbag like doggiedaddy supports defacing national monuments and burning historic churches though.

I watched those scumbags for many hours, you lying moron.

Well then, it must be true! ROTFLMAO

Maybe you can fool and impress your bootlickers on this forum with your bullshit and self-aggrandizing, but you don't fool or impress the rest of us. Doesn't surprise me at all that a scumbag like krl97a would push more white supremacist bullshit on this forum.

reply

the rest of us.

How many personalities do you have, Sybil? Are any of them not idiotic, pathological liars?
push more white supremacist bullshit on this forum.

I'll note that you can't quote a single "white supremacist" comment I've ever made, doggiedaddy, just so it's clear to any new posters reading this which of us is the one who spews bullshit without evidence.

Or dog shit I guess.

After seeing what those treasonous scumbags had done the past few nights, which they were evidently continuing that day, I enjoyed watching it. Time to reassert law and order.

reply

There were perfectly peaceful protests AND opportunistic criminals taking advantage of the situation creating chaos
Don’t get the two factions confused

reply

Bullshit. If there's a single act of violence it's not a "peaceful" protest. If they're blocking streets without a permit it's not a "peaceful" protest, but a violation of others' rights.

Conservative rallies almost always really were peaceful, but the liberal media and Democrats didn't describe them that way. The qualifier "peaceful" shouldn't be used in articles about protests anyway. That's too low a bar. Every protest should be peaceful. They're either "protests" or they're "violent protests" (aka riots).

These riots were evil in conception and have been violent from the beginning.

"Burn this bitch down!!" - Ferguson, 2014

Sure, it's hard to believe these riots resulted from a movement with such "peaceful" origins.

BLM Utah leader Lex Scott on these riots: "Maybe the next time a white police officer decides to pull the trigger, he will picture cities burning"

Who's "delusional" again?

Did you escape your psychiatrist too?

I didn't see this thread till after I responded to the one with the big fat lie. At least I corrected it. 👍🏻

Now, where's that one about him hiding in the bunker....!!!🤣

Unfortunately it's gotten to where you can't take anything a leftist media outlet, let alone a bottom feeder, says at face value.

reply

Absolutely.
Also, everyone is so quick to jump to conclusions about every story without knowing much about it. It's always good to wait just a bit.
