Which he ended up giving up on, but he still could've gotten his dad off the hook by finding out more about the killer. But he didn't even try.

Which he could've possibly found by investigating the killer's identity. Who is this guy and does the murder weapon still exist someplace? He has access to a master detective who could possibly found incriminating info on this guy. But he didn't even try.

Like I said, he would've just witnessed the murder. He wouldn't have stopped the killer from committing the murder. He wouldn't have interfered, just stay hidden and silently witness the murder. I don't see how that would've interrupted any timeline of actions. And unless the killer was disguised, he would've known what he looked like. Go to present time and describe the killer to the police and Batman and see if he can be tracked down.
We don't know how complicated it would've been to find the killer and prove his guilt because The Flash never even made the effort to find him. But when he has a access to a master detective like Batman it certainly would've been worth a try.
I doubt it. Crystal Skull brought back Marion and people still hated it.

Yeah, bizarre the plot just forgets about this. He could've used time travel to solve the problem without damaging the timeline. Just travel to the time of the murder and observe without interfering. That could've helped him find the real killer's identity and get his dad off the hook.
For some dumb reason DC sometimes forbids shows based on their comics from using certain characters. It’s why Two-face wasn’t in the “The Batman” cartoon. And why Gotham had to create these original clown-like psychopaths because they weren’t allowed to use The Joker. Guess that is why we got this Turner dude instead of any of the multiple existing Robins.
