It's not a sham. It's standard Hinduism, nothing to get upset about. I'd say as a religion it's more legit than Protestant fundamentalism. It was a divine sneeze. The best Smith's song is "How Soon Is Now". The Best Cure song is "Fascination Street". The best way I can answer this question is to compare those two songs and "How Soon Is Now" wins. The other problem with the question is that much of Morrissey's solo work blends in with The Smith's discography. lol Listening to Morrissey is a bit like enduring the rants of an overbearing gay guy. Prince is an icon. Get your mind out of the gutter. Actually, O'Connor did much better work before she did that sappy Prince song. She's not the only 80's New Wave talent who was sidetracked into pop by Prince. The Bangles were another band he ruined. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ORbUdApLhk Yeah, that's cool. I imagined him looking more bizarre and androgynous as a child. But that makes sense. People just tend to be cynical. Hollywood loves publicity and as the old saying goes "any publicity is good publicity". There's a lot of money riding on the Oscars and we'd like to think the producers of the show have some control. I mean c'mon, security would have you in a choke hold if you had walked up to that stage. So are we to believe there was no security available to escort Smith out of the auditorium? That's what they're saying, that the shot callers were too widely dispersed in the audience to do anything. Uhuh. I think it may have been staged. But I also think if it was staged, it benefited the Oscars, but it hurt Will Smith's career. I knew Axl Rose. Will Smith is no Axl Rose. The Gerber baby. Take a seat right over there. But it feels so good. This shows Smith's weakness as an actor and why he probably never deserved an Oscar in the first place. I say "probably" because I haven't seen "King Richard" and I don't plan to see it. Smith has always played it safe. His popularity rests on his role as the token black who doesn't offend white audiences. Smith wanted to "whitewash" Django. A director like Tarantino would never kowtow to this self-entitled hack Smith. But Smith's display at the Oscar's certainly tarnished his image as "The Good Negro". Lol. He might as well play ghetto now because he confirmed the stereotype of the violent black man with no self control. Yeah but he has style. I'd fuck the hell out of him now, quite frankly. Hehe. I have a complete opposite take on Jaden Smith. He used to look like any dumb black kid. Now with the outre style and the bleached and dyed hair, he's interesting. I'd say Chrissie Hynde and the Pretender's first album was earth shattering in a way which few bands achieve. So Hynde is up there among the immortals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjXnhT3jXM4 Jett is epic with the raw punk. But she's not on Chrissie's level. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nO6YL09T8Fw Jett's more blunt and direct. Chrissie's kinda ethereal. Well my point is that we post a topic here to have an interactive discussion with others. That allows us to explore the matter in a way we can't do if we just passively google the subject. Yeah, and we could google everything and not discuss any topic here as well. Cheesy is right. And I'm sure it takes skill but it's not that great a display of talent. I would hope there are rope twirlers who put on a better show. It was put on tv because it's so corny, not because it was that amazing an act.
