You are definitely NOT the only one! I loved that scene - the build up, the tension, the excitement..it was palpable! Back in '96 this was so damn good and it's still good today even though you know exactly what is gonna happen! I saw ID 3 times at the Flicks and loved it.

Because IMHO it’s simply one of the best Trek films. It has drama, action, suspense, tension, bucketloads of excitement, great writing & direction and fine performances from the whole cast. Overall it’s a lot of fun and I loved it as I still do now.
