That's a tough question. I mean, first off, the entire situation is totally insane. I guess if I was the dad, and if I was absolutely determined to get my kid back...than yeah, I probably would. But still, that's one scary situation to be in. I would definitely need a firearm. lol
That's what I loved about this movie. There was a real 'heroic' kind of theme on the dad's part at the end. That's something that you don't see in horror movies quite often.
As a remake, it definitely took me by surprise. I wasn't expecting much. There are some scenes in this movie that are truly disturbing.
They just don't make horror films like that nowadays...

Not the Russian orphanage. I'm talking about the orphanage that they got Ester from. They totally could've been sued.
She called the cops because she wasn't even aware that she was the one doing all the killings. She was crazy. I guess you could say that she had a super split personality. And the reason she killed Jimmy was because he spotted blood on her hand. That was her way of covering up her tracks and getting rid of a witness...I guess. But then again, her mental state had collapsed, all sense of reality was gone, and she was going on a brutal killing spree. There's not much logic behind the death of Jimmy. He was just in the wrong place, at the wrong time.
I agree that the original Rampage was memorable. But I thought the second film was terrible. And the third one...even worse.

I always thought that scene was weird too. Tyler didn't seem to be that young enough, to the point of becoming obsessed with a doll. But hey...maybe Tyler had issues or something, lol. But I know what you mean.
The dialogue definitely wasn't good. Probably one of the biggest downfalls of the film, along with the acting. Which I assume the acting and the poorly delivered dialogue sort of go hand & hand.
I was wondering the same thing. I've looked online and I can't find any information about her. I would love it if the entire cast had a reunion of some sort, and set up a Q&A. I'm fascinated by how this film came to be, and what the whole filming process must've been like.
lol...yeah, I know what you mean. But I still think there's some awesome fighting scenes.
In a reality, do realize how exhausted the main character would be? After getting kicked and punched probably over a hundred times, he would be delirious or in a coma by the time he escaped that building.
I don't think the ending is flawed at all. In fact, the ending was just perfect. The ending was a representation of how Daniel's greed couldn't satisfy him. No matter how filthy rich he became, he was still an angry and unhappy person. I think he viewed killing Paul Dano's character as his final accomplishment. He seemed more satisfied with killing him, than he ever did with becoming rich. Overall, I think Daniel was just a psycho who hated the world.
I think H.W. was still in shock after becoming permanently deaf. And he was also upset that his father didn't have enough patience to understand his loss of hearing. It was almost as if Daniel couldn't acknowledge that his son was deaf. And also, before starting the fire, Daniel forced H.W. to drink a mixture of milk and whiskey (gross!) So maybe H.W. was just really drunk at the time.
I have no idea what you're talking about. Paul Dano delivered an excellent performance. His character was practically vital for this film to even go on. I mean, sure, he was annoying. But then again, that was the point. He was an annoying person who was getting in Daniel's way. And I don't know what you mean by 'over the top acting'. He was portraying a religious maniac. With that being said, it's only logical that his character would be dramatic and a bit over the top.
Of course she did. That's why Lee was there to begin with.
Agreed. If the found-footage element would've been excluded, and if Safe Haven was filmed in a normal manner, it would have made an epic horror film.
