It was a so-so twist (well I thought it was kinda sappy) that the Shogoth turned out be “their” Shogoth, in that it was a special one just for them, it even killed other Shogoths. That kinda made me roll my eyes some but I see why they did it. Leti gets her “mark” back but who gave it to her? That’s not explained but hey it’s a show, that’s explanation enough i guess. Actually I liked that Titus guy, if there’s a season 2 maybe we’ll see more of him but probably not as it’s going to enrage the African American population just by him...well being him. That girl Diana, now how the hell is she going to explain that arm to anyone? You know when she has to go back to school? Jut being out in public? Going to the doctors, shit like that. They just threw it out there but it really doesn’t make much sense. Do you agree? It’s nothing special Drac, trust me. But of course, where everything will be made as right as rain again. Tic dead? Not a problem, he’ll be back. Same for Christina, because you can’t keep a good (bad) wench down. Titus, Samuel, Lancaster (Hey he got the right spare parts!). When you put pen to paper & write the script with the mindset, “F*%k it! I can do what I want” miracles happen. It’s all good baby. There really must be something other than duck in your soup bud. EXACTLY what I was thinking Who. I mean WTF? It ended like that? No thank you. Don’t feel like dishing out a $1000.00 + for a paperback, thank you very much. Are these people serious? If you’re reading this & you’re looking for this.....DON’T! Not worth your time & trouble. Why isn’t there a Kindle edition of this book? Truly makes one wonder. McGavin was so unique, like most things you just chalk it up to fate that he was the one & the only who could embody that role. Sometimes there is a destiny to the iconic roles that actors are know for. Who else could’ve been Jim Rockford but James Garner? or Fred Sanford but Redd Foxx? Or Archie Bunker but Carroll O’Connor or George Jefferson but Sherman Hemsley? You did neglect to mention that the question is moot because they DID try Kolchak with a different actor with Stuart Townsend which I hear some people loved & others loathed. But it’s been done so your question was answered when you think about it. Peace. In answer to the OP, oh yes I watched all of these first run in 1974. To me & my friends there was nothing better! Looking at it now, I find it extremely dated, & I find myself wanting more from the episodes I see now than I did before. Not that I still don’t love it, I do, but now all these years later I see the shortcomings of the series. Can’t recall exactly what surrounded this in terms of programming. Juts knew at the time there was “The Rockford Files” which was must see viewing, & as a others have suggested there was “The Six Million Dollar Man AND The Bionic Woman” & also yes “Kung Fu” which to a kid was a hard sell but hey I’m sure some watched it. But this will always have a special place in my childhood memories of the time. It’s a blast to watch this on ME TV & from my downloads off of Amazon after all these years! Thing is i love Ajax, he’s the best fighter in the group & the most fearless one too. He’s someone you want at your side when things go down, he ain’t no b!tch. IMO it’s easy to like someone like Ajax, for a gang member he’s more of a lone wolf type who probably knew he had to be part of a gang & not go it alone if he wanted to survive. He’s direct to the point of being in your face as in his banter with Mercy but still not overly disrespectful. He’s aggressive, especially regarding with some of the ladies but that doesn’t make him no rapist as some of you make him out to be. Again he’s aggressive, that’s the best way to put it, he comes on way too strong but he didn’t even do anything to the undercover cop lady. She was bait & she took the first one who bit, no matter what the action was. The movie doesn’t specify what may have happened to him afterwards but the thing is i don’t see him getting any kind of real time for that, c’mon now. A slap on the wrists, a couple of days in the cell maybe & out on the street again. After all what could they possibly hold him with? People here seem to think he went to prison for God’s sake, you all must be crazy. But I see him as some one who has some kind of code, HIS code, you know what I mean? She’s alright, but maybe it’s just me, there’s something about her “look” that’s off putting to me. Who are you referring to? Oh look, the troll is trying to bait me. Nice try but major FAIL! Uhhh. No. Black has NOTHING to do with it. The ELDERS of HER family should’ve done that for the way she acted towards them & last time I looked they WERE black. But carry on. Yeah yeah yeah, you’re just eating this up aren’t you? This kid needs a slap to the fucking face & especially in the time period she’s living in, she would’ve gotten one. For back talking to Montrose & being all kinds of disrespectful & cursing at him. For her confronting those cops when she had no reason to & for talking like that to them. Yeah ok. The only reason they let it go is because they pretty much made sure she was dead from the get go so they didn’t care. Which is brutal on their part that they did this to a little girl but hey it is what it is. Thing is personally I don’t think white, black has anything to do with it. She just wanted to be able to empathize or at least try to. Same goes for you & me. Not that I believe you’re a cold hearted person, not that I am but we can only empathize so much to everything that’s happening right now as in George Floyd, etc. Do I care? Uh yeah I guess, but I can only care so much. Well I don’t judge Christina for saying “No” she didn’t” she was being honest. Can we really expect her or anyone else to? It’s not like she’s inhuman, she does have feelings for Ruby, so she’s emotional in some aspects but not in others. By condemning her, I’d have to condemn myself. You know what I’m saying? He’s been in a bit of everything. Growing up in the 70’s I remember him as Richie Brockleman in the “Rockford Files”. Later on in the 80’s he was Captain Freedom, a lovable sort of nut in “Hillstreet Blues”. Remember him in “The Howling” the horror movie about werewolves, he was good in that. He states that does nothing really deep except make people laugh but that’s not true as he was in a little bit of everything, not just comedies. Thank you AP. I knew no such thing. I’ve only now have just watched “Far From Home” on cable last night & the scene that had the reveal of Fury being a Skrull was NOT in the after credits. Would’ve loved to have seen it but all they had was Spidey swinging with MJ at the end. Oh well. I’m not sure I’d call it a “breath of fresh air” but as an American myself I’m sure we did stuff like that in our wars all the time, no matter what the engagement. Like it or not I’d be a fool to sit here & tell you the armed forces of my country were never guilty of that. Damn right they were, & I don’t care who says they weren’t. To me it paints Tic in a bad light since he was going to shoot an unarmed civilian in the head whether she was guilty or not. He tries to justify this to Ji-ah by saying “she was a communist sympathizer” but we learn that she was not, & he knew that so there goes his argument. To me, again to me anyway, knowing he’d blindly follow orders to do something like that on behalf of a nation that was otherwise brutal to him & treated him like a citizen that had no rights is way out there thinking to me. True, I have thought much about that scene where Tic pleads with Christina to intercede on their behalf when Samuel shoots both Leti & George. The thing is i truly believe that she felt for him I really do but as you had stated & I believe she didn’t have the ability or power to interfere on his behalf. No surprise, we’ve all been there, in a situation where someone may plead with us for help but we on our part act like good little soldiers & stand pat because we’re not able at the time to do anything. She may have incurred her father’s wrath for doing so, & that’ s something she couldn’t afford as she probably couldn’t counter it & withstand any punishment derived from it. But as she told Tic, “All of us white people are not out to get you” & I believe her, she seems pretty progressive on that front for a white woman of her time. It was never fully explained (to my satisfaction) why Montrose murdered Yahima & that scene between Tic & Leti was some pretty bad acting (I think) where he tells her the truth about what happened & then she fakes being super upset & then comes out with “Look how your father protected you”. “Wha?? That was a pretty crappy scene that didn’t fit, at least IMO anyway. Tic seems to accept this all of a sudden only after beating his father to a pulp. Doesn’t make sense. Why is no one asking “What did he do with her?” Stuff like that. On a different note, when Tic was reading the notes & then we see him get real upset & he winds up calling Ji-Ah in Korea, well what was it that he read that motivated him to all of a sudden think of her? He’s reading Titus’s notes but yet stops & calls a woman he once knew in Korea, I mean what was it that he read in between these unrelated events to make him think she’s involved? We may or may not find this out tonight. We’ll see. GREAT answer(s) Jol! Thanks for taking the time to type them out & explain stuff to us. The only thing I personally disagree with s the theory that Christina wants the missing pages to “wipe out black America”. Sorry but that’s too out there for me as I’ve seen nothing from her that suggests she’s racist & even if she is that she’s all that rabid of a racist, vile enough to even think of something like that. It’s a gut feeling I have but I believe this explanation is wrong, even if other websites agree with this point of view. From what we see of her, she doesn’t seen to shy away or mind being with & dealing with black people. Any hatred she does bear is related to such things as the patriarchs of her order & her place as a woman in a mans world. She wants to get to Eden, not wipe out Africans in America or all over the globe. Hell she saved their butts a couple of times already. The only thing I’ll admit where she may have inferred harm is when she gave Leti the money & maneuvered her to buy the Winthrop house where she knew Hiram was in there, so there’s that. But if she wanted them dead, then she’s more than capable of doing it. On a footnote, regarding Titus, what he did to Yahima & her people was not because he was a depraved racist & wanted to wipe them out but he was angered that she refused to help him any further after seeing his true colors so he did that for revenge, not prejudice of any kind. The hatred may have been there but the motivation behind it was different. That’s entirely logical exatera, but the only thing is wouldn’t Samuel have known that she was doing that? LOL! I’m sure he would have but he probably would’ve been like “Ok”. Most likely everyone else at the order knew she was doing that as well so it’s hysterical when you think about it. I’m sure no one was fooled.
