Reese's actions in this film are far worse than what Candice Bergen did any way you slice it. But we're supposed to be rooting for her because hyuk hyuk. There would be nothing to do. Bergen's point is that these southern characters are just idiot bumpkins and the movie didn't offer any evidence to the contrary. They were just stereotypes and caricatures. This is how Reese is able to get away with assault. No need for arrest because hyuk hyuk. Again this stupid bit is only there to designate her as a villain and it isn't earned. Honestly I always thought it was a trick and whoever would have used the detonator would have blown theirs up rather than the other one. That said I'm sure Joker would blow up both. You still have the people Dent killed that Joker couldn't have. This doesn't segue well into a JL story since it means the other heroes don't respond to Gotham being held hostage on 2 different occasions. Nolan had his ending planned and anymore films would have brought it down in all likelihood. It ends on a high note rather than being drug out until it turns bad. Same way he got along globe hopping before becoming Batman. I look at it as more of a retort to Bruce's no guns and no killing rule. Part of Bruce's arc in this is realizing Gotham doesn't have to be perfect to be good. Also, they make Bane somewhat sympathetic before he goes out and another big brawl might have wrecked that. Because as far as all other versions of Batman are concerned, that is his natural end. He's doomed to be Batman until he dies. Nolan wanted a different take. It's not just the autopilot, the whole movie is centered around everyone trying to convince Bruce he doesn't have to be a martyr and there are other ways to help the city that don't require his life. He can pass the mantle on and find happiness instead. The city can rally to protect itself when needed. If anything, this is a fresh take on Batman where he moves on past the pain of losing his parents. I'd have the Joker getting rid of the police somehow before the parade. It's never made any sense why the police don't act after Joker told them exactly where he'd be and when. No she didn't. Candice Bergen has been the only sane character in this movie. After Melanie lied about who she was and goes back to her husband she just is the only character not blindly following it and that makes her a villain in this stupid film. Reese Witherspoon could have told her she was wrong but then she'd just be a hypocrite since she was ashamed of her background as well. Well to be fair if you found out your son's fiance pretty much lied about her whole identity and left your son at the altar and everyone around you seems to be supporting that, wouldn't you be kind of irked? She cheated on Moose, but I don't know if that caused Hal to target her. The Kent barn is the same one the Blossoms own. It also featured in this season's crossover between Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl. I was thinking it would lend more to Bruce himself realizing this was the path he was on with his desire to die in battle and coming to the realization he didn't need to be a martyr. Batman Begins: Favorite: The tumbler chase Least Favorite: The quick cut too close up fight scenes. Makes the action hard to take in. The Dark Knight Favorite: Heath Ledger as Joker Least Favorite: Joker magically knowing the route they're taking Harvey Dent. The Dark Knight Rises Favorite: Tom Hardy as Bane Least Favorite: Talia isn't built up as a character, just a quick reveal. The movie never really touches on the fact that Bruce caused her to be an orphan in his quest for justice after being made an orphan himself. I don't enjoy the sketches as much on the revival series but they aren't bad to the point I skip them. No, the viewers are meant to assume this is a past time period. There wouldn't be various races in a colonial type village of the time. It's possible they live together and Avery had only heard the message long after Victor had left or a relative told him later. He knew the ticket had been removed from the wallet and had to play along to figure out what happened to it. More similar to Gravity to me.
