I think the show has jumped the shark. Time for everybody to move on. I think so, too. It might mess with your mind as well. A big part of who we are is the product of our experiences and how we reacted to and handled them. Take away the memory of something that shaped you and there would be some dissonance. Especially because the memories you'd want to erase would be powerful ones.
ERRRERRRRr......SCREEEECH.... *gas pedal* *gas pedal* *gas pedal* *gas pedal* *gas pedal* *gas pedal*
LOL You are too funny! I love this.
The fact that someone does not feel all the love for a film such as this is not complete positive proof that they simply don't "Get it".
And by the same token, the fact that some people do like the film isn't proof that they are less intelligent. It just shows that people have different senses of humor and laugh at different things. I brought it up because the feeling that the episodes are half-finished applies to the entire series and not just this particular season and episode. And because maybe someone would be interested in what I had to say. It might change or broaden their point of view a little. Isn't that what discussion boards are for? To see what others think and have to say? And maybe learn something? I think the reason they feel like half a story is that the episodes are modeled after short stories rather than novels like movies are. A short story is a brief fictional prose narrative that is shorter than a novel and that usually deals with only a few characters. The short story is usually concerned with a single effect conveyed in only one or a few significant episodes or scenes. The form encourages economy of setting, concise narrative, and the omission of a complex plot; character is disclosed in action and dramatic encounter but is seldom fully developed. (This is from Britannica.com) That describes Black Mirror episodes pretty closely. We could hear the screams as the car went into the water, so presumably Terry could, too. I found her more and more annoying as as I watched the first two seasons. I know she's a flawed character, but usually flawed characters have something likeable about them, something that draws you to them. Or the character grows over time and you begin to like them. Or something is revealed about their past that makes you understand and empathize. It doesn't look like that happens with her. I may just skip the last two seasons. I was totally hooked, too. Though the investigation lasted 2 series, I think in the timeline of the story it was less than a month. I don't remember them saying it was thousands of dollars. I thought that was how much money was missing from Stan and Mitch's account. I think they did say she was putting it in her Aunt Terry's account. I assumed Terry was helping her save money for when she left. I thought she looked really trim at the beginning of the episode. I didn't notice her extra weight until the end when
she's crashing the wedding and again during the prison scene
. Of course, you're not stupid. Although I did like the movie, I can certainly see why someone else wouldn't. Everyone has different tastes. I thought Hudson did a good job of portraying a man who, though he'd been given a handsome face and a new life, was still dead inside. And his freak-out at the end really made me feel his panic. I also thought the director used the camera to good effect, showing how detached Hamilton was from the world and people around him. But, as I said, this kind of movie isn't to everyone's liking. It's a good thing there are all different kinds of movies. :-) One of the reasons you don't get the flu is that many people do get a flu shot and that keeps the flu from spreading. Then those of you who didn't get the shot have less of a chance to catch the flu. I don't mind movie makers using that structure again, just so long as they do something interesting with it. My understanding is that sci-fi and alternate history are two sub-genres under the heading of "speculative fiction." Both types ask "what if?", but play out in different ways. More on this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speculative_fiction I thought the music was way too loud. It seemed to me like the director was over-using it to build suspense. Music in movies contributes greatly to the story but in this one it was so loud and obvious, I thought it actually detracted from the story. Thanks! Thank you! It's time somebody finally said that! I was so disappointed in the first movie, I didn't even see the rest. There is a huge disconnect between the series and the films, so much so that I don't think the movies should even use the title of Mission Impossible. The pacing, the tone, the style are all radically different. Actually, I think the Ocean's 11, 12, 13 movies do a better job of capturing the essence of the TV series. And the humor makes them even more fun. But it's fun for those of us who don't watch NCIS!
