Well said Drac! haha I guess so! I think calling this great is an exaggeration but I agree somewhat with what you are saying. I couldn't get into the books (only read The Gunslinger and struggled to get through it) and I found this movie enjoyable. To me though, this felt more like a Harry Potter spinoff than something adapted from Stephen King's signature series. It's PG-13 "I liked the technology with the suit but it ventured into Iron Man technology too much, especially with the Jarvis A.I. " This was probably my biggest complaint about the film. Overall I liked the movie but I thought the technology of the suit was a bit much. Given the characters and the circumstances I would stay it was as happy an ending as possible. Of course even the "good" brother was still a willing accomplice to the two brothers living as one that ultimately drove Sarah to suicide. Great stuff! Just looking at that box art makes me wish UAN would come back! It's possible, and I agree there was that odd tint to the scene of him being released, but for me even the suggestion he could be released after only 5 years considering the severity of the crimes he was involved in brought it down a notch. Like I said, I'm not sure what the right ending would've been but I would've preferred they pick a side (i.e. he gets away, or he gets caught. I didn't like them straddling the line with it). When he was sentenced, the judge said it was 25 years with the chance of parole after serving 5 years. Haha it did make sense which is why I believed it for so long. I just thought he was actually speaking with some authority on the topic when in fact it had never been established anywhere what Gonzo is. Good luck! My love of cheesy movies started with USA Up All Night. I found this site that lists movies shown on UAN, maybe yours is among them... http://usaupallnight.blogspot.com/2011/06/coming-soon-usa-up-all-night-movie-list.html Don't know if this is the movie but I remember one called "The Girl I Want" about a brainy girl who turns trampy to win over a football player, all the while the football player secretly already has a crush on her and wants to win her over. It was an incredibly cheaply made movie and it's main character is a football player so it's possible. I remember hoping that would be re-aired so I could see the whole thing but it never did. When I was a teenager my uncle told me that Gonzo was actually a mosquito. He spoke with such surety that for years I believed it to be true. It wasn't until the internet that I realized there was actually zero evidence to back this up lol I loved the first 2/3 of the movie but the last 1/3 was a bit over the top (not bad just thought it was too much). Also I wasn't crazy about the ending. Solid movie but a bit below the hype for me. No idea if you're trolling or serious but you should at least put spoiler in the title of your thread. Bale's character doesn't say he can't remember. The conversation at the memorial went like this: Angier: "Which knot did you tie?" Borden: "I keep asking myself that." Angier: "And?' Borden: "And uh, I'm sorry, I just don't know." In other words he wasn't the one that tied the knot, it was the twin. He hasn't been asking himself that question, he's been asking his twin brother. He doesn't know because the brother denies tying the wrong knot but the brother in the funeral scene has trouble believing him and that is why he doesn't know. Also, the child is walking off with the brother that truly loved her mother. Sarah said somedays he really meant it when he said "I love you" and others she could tell he didn't. That is because even though the brothers split their time with her, only one truly loved her. Yeah I got that, I just didn't understand why he wouldn't bother to put pants on. If someone is washing my window I might be polite but if they're wearing a diaper I'd probably tell them to back the hell off lol Yeah wasn't even close. I thought it was okay, but only okay. Some parts were done really well and very funny and other parts completely missed the mark (dude in the diaper). I really liked her in Office Christmas Party and Fist Fight and thought she was as good as anything else in this. I get what you're saying though since she seems to be finding her niche as a woman who has no filter. I hope to see her in more stuff and hopefully she'll get to show some more range. What about this movie was sexist toward men? The decent men in the movie (the fiancé and friends) are good guys. It's not their story though, it's the women's story. Would you have felt better if the diamond thieves were also women? It wasn't a great movie but taking offense to this is ridiculous. The ratings were solid so not sure where this decision came from. Personally I think it's a terrible idea and I have no idea how they're going to pull this off. The problem is they're was no real hint that they were unhappy as a couple in the first season (yes they fought but appeared to still be in love through it all) so to have them get divorces makes a big part of season 1 feel like a total lie. Killing her off solves that problem but would still likely alienate many viewers who like Hayes. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
